The Quantum Journey
As I´m reflecting the enigma of the universe, I keep seeing this methaphorical picture: Someone is trying to wake up by pinching herself in a dream. But how can you pinch yourself in a dream, being both the dream and the dreamer?
To realize that we are a part of a floating enigma, somewhere at the outskirts of the universe, fills me both with a sense of awe and curiosity. Being curious, you expect immediate answers, but you must, however, pose the right questions to receive the answers.
The task seems to be living out the questions first. What is life? What is the meaning of our awareness? Does it bring us obligations? Of what kind? Are we a manifestation of a selfreflecting universe; one of the many eyes and ears of a being of inconceivable proportions?
I´m reflecting over the singularity of a star and its event horizon; this magical zone that seems to divide all known existence to a sudden and total non-existence.
What is dark materia; this energy that seems to exist, but is not easily trapped.
The universe is curving at the vicinity of massive objects: But our thoughts are energy too, and these powers must be active everywhere: How independent can we assume to be in our actions and in our thoughts? How are our thoughts effected, do we have a frequency; an energy field interacting with others?
What electro-magnethic fields, do Bach´s and Scelsi´s music, or Monet´s and Rhotko´s art –saturated by the natural powers – stir around us?
If the contemporary physics will find the great connecting theory someday, will the universe be altered for us? Does theory create universe or vice versa? What is consciousness? Is all existence the same as consciousness? Does the universe merely reveal to us those prospects we are able to measure and to sense? Does it appear as something totally different to some other quality of comprehension? Can the universe be unfolded,-apart from our rational, external sensing and measuring,-also through internal, intuitive experiencing?
Energy,- all that is and can be seen,- is the basis of all universal movement and change. Being just a microschopical particle of this cosmic dance will hopefully put our actions here in a more appropriate context. Perhaps the immensity of these powers will eventually make us understand the greatness of our responsibilities towards our planet, our fellow-beings and ourselves.
As the universe has a tendency to reveal to us only those microschopical parts currently corresponding to our comprehension, it is sensible to finally ask: To what quality of awareness will it unfold most completely, and on the other hand; what kind of awareness will help us to become most harmonious and sound?
My visual work is a reflection of a journey into the mysteries of life aswell as into the secrets of the human mind.
